Choke Light Switch
« on: May 27, 2021, 08:53:46 PM »
So on this 83 K10 im redoing the choke light originally worked fine when i frame off'd the truck. Now that its reassembled i noticed it stayed on all the time when i had it running in the garage (truck is still immobile). I finally found the sensor/switch and if i push the little 2 blade plug on it will operate correctly. The problem is there is nothing to really hold it tight like a snap/clip etc. So it will probably just fall off under vibration. I cant find a replacement plug anywhere and clearly the "sensor" is working right. I saw a few pictures where people just put spade connectors on the switch terminals but my plug has 3 wires going to it and only 2 blade terminals to plug onto the sensor. So i have no idea what would go where if i was to hack it up.

Any ideas?

The light and dark blue wires share one of the switch prongs, the pink-white wire connects to the other; see GM Electric Choke Operation.

Standard Motor Products S-939 might suffice for the replacement connector, although I would shop around for a better price.

It's difficult to know just how much you don't know until you know it.
In other words... if people learn by making mistakes, by now I should know just about everything!!!
