1986 C10 4.3L engine

I noticed the 4 prong distributor plug in for what I assume is the ESC?  That engine was ditched a long time ago and a 350 with a normal HEI distributor is going in its place.  Do I have to jump 2 wires in the plug?  It has been forever since I have done anything like that and I can't remember.

Jump 2 wires for what? You are not using anything related to the ESC if you have a v8 with an HEI. That is nothing but an old part of the original harness. Are you trying to set the timing?

thanks Vile, no engine yet.  2 wires maybe on the distributor used to be jumped, it has been a few years since I have messed with anything this involved.

Sorry for my late reply----i have been busy with family stuff.

i don't think anything needs to be done to the plug if the plug is on the truck side headed to the esc computer.

But let me get you a clear answer, probably this weekend.
