Cab floor brace support

(1/1)

philo_beddoe:
What’s involved in replacing this cab floor brace support? It looks like more than the two bolts. Some spot welding? My passenger side is great, the drivers side is rotted around where the support bolt goes through.

Forgot the pic, but most know what I’m referring to.

Take out inner fender, loosen body mounts, jack up cab, cut, drill, grind, repair, patch, & weld all associated parts, lower cab, measure shim, adjust. Use rust protection on all areas. Should only take like 5-10 minutes.  8)

Lol, sounds like an all-day-er!

Now you know why I have the “DOH!” Homer avitar.

Well, two years later,,,finally got around to replacing that cab floor brace,,, sort of. Turns out the rotted section never reached the cab mount. So we cut out the bad section and welded in the exact shape piece needed, trimmed and painted. Done!

That's the beauty of repair panels is they give you pieces.
