Hey everyone,
im sorry i havent done much on here as far as updates.A month ago a fell off my garage roof and landed on my left leg.I shattered my heel, and compound fratured my femur.I had a titanium rod put in my left femur and tuesday im going in for the start of a long road n the 1st of a few operations on my foot rebuild. But i was very fortunate i didnt land on my head n get paralyzed or even killed. But for now i had a few more parts powdercoated like the door glass channel guides.I bought some pieces from ebay for the jack under the hood and i bought new door glass and a new back glass n weatherstriping for it.But again all is on hold till i can walk n get my life off of this detour road of life.

Once i get back in the swing of things im going all out n finishing this project as my 70 cougar is now all apart n im gonna get that done within 2-3 years so i can enjoy the toys n then start on a 72 nova build i want to do as a long term project.

thanks
pat

Thanks vile and everyone,
even the doctors even said i was very lucky i landed on my leg and not on my head.I wouldnt be here today typing to you all.Right now im doing alot of home physical therapy on my knee cause it is tight cause of not moving it.But once i get going i`ll  make sure this truck will be back on top and bringing pics here. For now i am bed written for a lil while and i cant drive which is hard on me.I feel helpless cause i got my mom helping me out and dad is a double amputee. But i wont let it beat me im gonna beat this.I got like 2,500 left to go to finish this truck.I think i may look into another truck next year, perhaps another 73-80 this time a 4x4 .But again thanks guys i am down but definately not out of the game

thanks
Pat

Thank you Grim and DnStClr ,

I am trying my best to make sure im at 100% before i can do anything really. We got weeds out of control in our driveway i cant get to cause of my leg.So many things are on the backburner and i got no choice cause i dont want to reinjure my leg.But to hear that others enjoy my project its a great feeling. But i`ll keep you all updated on my progress and condition...

thanks

Do your best to try and relax, last year when i fell at work and shattered my arm i went stir crazy with things that i wanted to do and couldn't.  Simple things drove me nuts at times. Right now all that matters is that your listen to your Dr's and do what you can, but make sure you heal up first.  Keep a positive attitude and tell yourself that your going to be just like you was before you got hurt, thats what i did.  My 67 Le Mans convertable is still sitting all tore apart because i have to learn to weld again because I can't twist my wrist like I used to but you know what Ill figure it out.  One of these days I'm going to get a garage like yours, that thing is sweet.

Thanks for accepting it donnie,

GTO,
for right now thats all i really can do.I mean i am bedwritten cause of my foot and i can get up and use a walker or my dads wheelchairs(1 power and 1 standard). But breaking this is so hard in life to deal with cause i never suffered any broken bones or ever took time out of work for this period of time.Right now im doing whatever they say and i deal with a lil pain everyday compared to the staples and stiches removed on wednesday. That was so painful i think i rather get another tattoo then go thru that.I think i made indents in the table i layed on when they had to cut n remove the stiches. Also the staples where they had to skin graph on the side. They have this box on the wall for biohazzard material, i kid you not i couldve ripped that off the wall the pain was that bad.But i go for x rays next wednesday to see how its progressing. And to see if i am needed in this cast or not.If not theyll put me in a black boot stent but still cant walk till at least the middle of august.Just my luck cause in september every year i go see my family in rhode island,so hopefully i can walk somewhat good in them 2 weeks. But overall im honored and blessed to have great family and friends as well as ones here that make me want to build another hotrod truck.I`m more leaning now on a shortbed 73-80 but with a big block this time or a 72 nova with a big block. But for now its just about gettting better.
thanks

hang in there man. you will be just fine.  the hardest part is trying to accept just sitting there. i had situation where i was laid up for months and i hated it. i looked out my window daily and saw my truck sitting there, or id attempt on going to our shop. that is a mistake.  most important, my fiance and friends and family were around to help me.  anyway, take care man and i vote you do another truck with that big block.

I agree the with big bear that the hardest part is accepting the whole thing.  Its been 10 months for me and the Dr finally just let me go back to driving the jockey truck at work today.  Things will get better, and I do hope you can be able to walk and be with your family in a August.  Oh and I vote on the nova just because there isn't to many in the backwoods I live in.

Again i thank you all for the encouraging words,
i have these things under my right arm called picklers, there for drawing blood and Also for I V on the antibiotics.Next thursday they get removed as i am all done with the antibiotics which to me is a great sign cause these things are a PITA. I wont go into details as its just boring to talk about,my nurse that comes each week seen the truck in the shop and she is a ford freak. She has a triple black w/ foose wheels and lowered and hopped up 08 GT stang. She seen the truck and loved the colors and the work, she showed her daughter and she went ballistic and loved the truck. To have others love what i did to it and heard how much work i put into it makes me feel great.I know its going to be a neck snapper once it is on the road and i know by this time next year i should be just about done.6 years is long enough on a project.I know its not the time it takes its the budgets and the time and the patience it takes to build a awesome hot rod.But i am leaning towards a nova, pictured in the link is my buddies 71 SS he sold.I wanted it but glad i didnt.I love to build them from the ground up,to me you start with a body and build it your way.The color, wheels, drivetrain, interior and so on.You buy someone elses toy its no fun, you cant take pride and say you built that. But i am so ready to go back but i dont need to reinjure myself and go backwards so ill keep you all informed on the parts i buy for it and let you know how things are progressing on my recovery and the trucks progress.Again thank you all for the encouraging words and making me feel good bout being a  part of the group.

thanks
pat
