Got back to working on the truck some.

A week ago i decided to replace the shocks all the way around as 3 of the 4 collapsed. And my step dad told me there was a vibration so he had the tires rebalanced. While adding the shock extenders to the rear i noticed 1 of the flip kit perches was not seating properly in the pocket of the rearend leaf spring.I had to remove it, took it to my vice and pull it in about a 1/2 inch and it fits great now. Now onto my last big project. Seats! I had replaced them with another pair that was not leather. I ended up getting rid of the 87 suburban console and did measurements and found a 2008 silverado jump seat console fit perfectly between the seats and it even sits good on the floor. I had to trim the tabs back about a inch and redrill.Once i get the console back toggether(replacing the arm rest cover). I`ll take pictures of everything mentioned. I`m almost at the finish line with this truck. 17 years in the making..

thanks

Hey all,

Its been quite some time since i was last on. I have been working on the truck and fixing some final issues with it. Some wiring issues were fixed and some other odds and ends. Got the front windows tinted replaced the pitted door handles(exterior), did some other work to it. Nothing major, BUT the time has come to say good bye to it. I have come to realization that i got to many irons in the fire and need to down size. I may build another one in the future but only time will tell.. Otherwise  keep them trucks alive guys!

thanks

Had a potential buyer come look at it. He picked it apart left n right, saying hood don't line up, door out of adjustment, carburetor screwed up.  Oil pan leaking, transmission tail leaking. So since he picked it apart and didn't want it, I pulled the ad. I'm gonna pull the motor out this fall, all new gaskets, fresh paint, polish the intake, new carb, replace front tires with bigger ones, get transmission fixed, repaint rear fender(bubbles in paint), and fix alignments on door n hood. I figure next November at the daytona turkey rod run ilk try n sell it. But for now I still got it. I'm gonna make these changes and be proud of this beast.

Thanks
Pat

Thanks guys.

I don`t like it either when they come and pick it apart. I put a lot of work into this thing and to have a guy pick it apart left and right i knew he wasn`t going to keep it but to just flip it. It upset me at 1st but i am over it now and got a clear head on what i need to do to it. I am going ro get it registered in january and title it in the wifes name. I am going to fix the small issues and drive it some then we will see where life takes us. I am really wanting to move in the next 4-5 years out of FL and to possibly tennessee or the carolinas. So i cannot take all 6 of our vehicles so some will have to go away and this 1 i am going to say it will be on the chopping block..

thanks
