Front suspension/brakes/lowering - what order should I go I ?
« on: October 10, 2019, 07:06:58 PM »
Just finished up an LS swap on my 1979 C10 step side.

Next up, I want to replace much of the front suspension. I haven’t gone thru it closely yet, but it doesn’t look like most of it has been touched in decades.

In addition to replacing those parts, I want to upgrade the braking system and lower the truck. Thinking of lowering it 2/4”.

Is there a particular order in which I should do this work? Maybe I’m overthinking this, but my worry is that I might replace something that has a downstream impact later. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Congrats on the conversion!

So when you say you want to replace the suspension- the worn components or the entire assembly?

Either way, you are into the entire front end so do the suspension first, then the new spindles, then the brakes.

With all that past you, there really won't be anything else to touch for the next 40 years.
