Front Spring Differences
« on: February 13, 2006, 09:43:00 PM »
So I had a little accident in my 87 a week or so ago. Pulled into the path of a early 90s (noticed the square dash) GMC C2500. He took out my right front fender, bumper, radiator support, and the right-hand side headlight stuff. From the grille over to the drivers side is good. Underneath I bent the rear spring hanger on the right front spring, bent the axle u-bolts on the pass. side, so the front axle sits at a twist. I'm pretty sure the springs are still good but I'd like to beef up the suspension, and I'd like to maybe replace them with heavier springs. Which leads me to my question, is there any difference in 1/2 ton front springs and 3/4 or one-ton front springs? The truck was lifted when I bought it and the PO knew nothing about it. I think it's a two inch lift.

Oh yeah, I'm talking about 4x4 leaf springs... Not a two-wheel drive.
