temp guage

my temp guage quit working in my 85 k10. any ideas?:rolleyes

it is probley something as easy as a broken wire.  Just find the temp.  sending unit on the engine.  There should be one wire hooked up to it.  Look for breaks or burned spots.  It's easy for a wire to burn around the exhaust and break.  If the wires look good you just may need a new sending unit.  The guage is probley the last thing to look at.

I just thought of something...if it was a broken wire, the temp. gauge would read full scale?

maybe but i thought if it were a broken wire that it would stay where it was reading at the time the wire broke
