What would be the stock stall speed for my Turbo 400 with the 400 small-block. My next cam will be a bit bigger and may need a higher-stall converter, that's why I'm asking.
-
Dont worry about stock stall speed. Its about 1800rpm. Base your new torque convertor stall speed on the cam/intake/exaust of your combo.

Ok, that would be about 400 to 600 rpm over stock with the new combo, not too high. Thanks.

Hi, can anyone give me a little 101 information about stall speed. I have a 350 .60 over, flat tops, edelbrock intake with the 1406 carb, headers, and a mild cam. I plan on replacing the cam with a comp and 262 and using 194 or 202 valves. I also have the 350 transmission with a shift kit. Thanks, Rick

sounds like you have about the same setup as I had on my Vette. I was told 2300 was about right but I think there is a way to figure it out. I would just ask a tranny shop.
