steering gear box
« on: September 23, 2017, 07:01:41 PM »
1986 custom deluxe 4.3 L 4 BBL w/o air 400 trans w/o cruze. On the top of my steering gear box there is a plug for a electrical connection. But there is no wires running to it. My best guess is its a sending unit for something. But what i dont know. p.s. and yes its a  powering steering truck.

Here is a pic of it. I was mistaken the sending unit or whatever it is. Is actually in the powering steering line right before it goes into the steering gear box.

Does it have a idle speed compensator on the side of the throttle linkage?

A guess would be it that it would tell the ECU to bump the throttle up when the steering box is in a bind or near relief pressure.

Should be a brown and black wire connector. The black wire connects to the frame. Is your ECM in tact?

could be the brake pressure sender. I know GM built them into the proportioning valve to a warning light in the dash cluster.
