C10 conversion restore
« on: March 13, 2018, 11:27:01 AM »
So I purchased a 1986 C10 which I previously thought was a k10. Turns out it was a C10 to k10 conversion. Has a mild built 350, 4speed/granny tranny, 12 bolt rear with locker 10 bolt front. She's in rough shape body/suspension/steering wise. I planned on doing a frame off rebuild. All new body including cab, new lift, all new steering components.my question is, find an actual k10 frame or proceed with the original C10 frame that's been converted? I'm stuck here, I'm starting to think I could just flip the truck for a couple hundred bucks and just find another truck as a foundation.

welcome from maryland. i wouldnt waist time looking for a k10 frame for a couple reasons. theyre pretty much identical and two the difference is the holes which if they really bothered you have someone weld up the holes and move on.
