1975 C10 wiring Diagram original straight 6 manual trans
« on: January 04, 2016, 12:49:20 AM »
my 1975 C10 was originally a straight 6 manual transmission truck. Since it was converted to a V8 auto and there was some hokey stuff done. I need to find a wiring diagram so I can wire this truck safely, correctly, and label my Modified electrical cleanly. Anyone have a website or know where I can purchase the correct diagrams.

All of the diagrams you should need are right here on this site. Just go to the Tech section or search wiring diagrams in the search box.

There are two sets of wiring diagrams on this board.  GM and aftermarket.  GM are year specific.
The GM wiring diagrams are here.

I've posted my Mediafire folders using shortened URLs that contain Squarebody service manuals, Parts Books, Radio Manuals, and GM Textbooks in my signature.  If I scan another manual It'll show up in these folders.

Unless it was messed up before the swap there is nothing to it.  6 to a V-8 is easy.  The wires from the alternator, water temp and oil pressure is longer than they need to be.  Common mistakes are typically the sensors aren't changed to the correct application.  If your truck was indicator lights and the engine going in there was from a gauge package it won't work.  One other mistake that is made is lack of grounds...

I'm swapping a 5.3 from the 1992 LT1/turbo400 that was installed by the previous owner who did all the hard work swapping it from a straight 6 manual. I'm going to install new vintage gauges and probably a Lokar floor shifter so I need to find the correct wires for neutral safety switch, brakes, reverse, proportioning valve, high beams, Ac for the vintage air. I want it to be super clean wiring.
