Clutch Safety Switch Mounting
« on: April 23, 2018, 05:23:29 PM »
I have seen many photos of the clutch pedal assembly for 1984 C-10's, but none are clear enough
to see how the switch is mounted to the pedal bracket.
There is a 1/4" square hole in the bracket where the switch should mount,
but the switch itself has a larger hole, maybe 3/8".
Should a 1/4' carriage bolt be used with a spacer and locknut?
Or is there a special fastener arrangement for switch mounting?
I believe the switch should be free to pivot a bit, correct?

OK. I finally found a drawing that shows the shoulder bolt.

Yup.
Turns out that mounting bolt is a plastic gizmo costing $15.00 or so.
I used a 5/15" carriage bolt and a piece of 1/4" fuel line drilled out for the 5/16" bolt.
Top i toff with a washer and a nylock nut and I think I'm good.
Thanks!
