A picture would really help.  If it is a 76, it has a mechanical oil pressure gauge.
The only green wire I can think that hasn't been mentioned is the Temp gauge.

it's really not green it's blue. I might call it teal but if anything it is blue. pic coming in a few minutes. I just have to crawl into my engine capartment  ;D

that's how the post reads with me too. When I'm logged in i can't see any of the posts after Capt. Kaos's. i can only read them when i'm logged out then when i log in they don't show.

I will look on my GMC to see if I have that connector but your pix are really crappy and hard to tell where it is. PS this thread is screwed up big time. I can't see the posts when I'm logged in either

The grey thing in the bottom right corner is the back of the distributor. This is a shot down the back of the motor. The wire comes out of the harness in the pic and is basically in the middle of the back of the motor.
