My wire labeler was supposed to show up in the mail before I started this, not important but I'll still label the wires I cut and separated. Pretty much done just need to lay it on the motor, see how it lays and loom, extend cruise wires, and fusebox wiring. In the process of this, learned I have to change up my alternator to get a good charge or just replace it. Get to that later.

Ended up taping the harness a bit more and putting it in a box for now. Ordered a fuse block kit and some loom tape. Didn't like how the plastic fell apart when I stripped the harness.

Went to put the Camaro pump on and realized I cant use my stock alternator/ps pump bracket. Going to have to do some research on what I will do.

Been awhile since I ordered everything for this truck. Pulled up the relocation bracket I had online and had a Jeff Foxworthy moment.

Had to go out of town again then holidays, but more progress. Forget to take pics of the motor mounts, but got them trimmed and bolted. Headers on, plugged purge sensor. Got a few things to move around in the shop but hope to have the motor and cab on by the weekend. Got the parts in for my fuseblock just waiting on a few more things to show up but ready to stab key items on the frame.

Got motor in. Fittings I bought for sending unit aren't going to work the way I wanted  so I'm going to try a different route to hardline straight off of them. Going to wait on the cab until I get these how I want them. Working break lines until then. Not as hard as I thought it would be, but definitely got to pay attention to the bends. I'm using tig wire with my benders to make patterns.

Got the motor and trans lined up and bolted yesterday. My sending unit fittings should be in some time today. Hoping to get that done tonight so I can get the cab on.

Second set of fittings showed up, but the 1/4" isn't going to fit in the middle. Was hoping to go hardline as far as I could on everything to make it easier later down the road when it rots. Just a vent so not as big of an issue. Maybe next time a pump wears out I'll build a custom sending unit. And by the way the sending unit is not a true 1/4" O.D. found that out too when I tried to put the fitting on. Bend these lines, get the other tank ready and probably call it a night and get on it tomorrow.

Didn't get much done last night. Got tired of the cold. I was going to route these in the stock selector location, then remembered how much it sucked the last time I replaced one. So after about an hour of dreaming up some way to keep it in the original area, dreaming up different ways to make brackets, because of the offset, I got frustrated.. Every way I looked at it, I didn't like it. So I finally looked at the bar I had been sitting on and the lightbulb clicked. Now that's out of the way, back to routing the lines. Not sure if I will put the cab on after this, I got to move the vette outside to do it and the weather is getting bad. May be a few days if it snows like they are saying.

Holding them in place because I've run out of short bolts. Going to tweak the 5/16 up a bit more after I get it bolted in place and trim them both. Not going to lie, between straightening the tubing and bending it, its pretty time consuming. That and the 3/8 tubing is a hoss, wish my benders had longer handles.

Have you considered brazing a short extension and AN steel fitting directly to the return nipple?

Ya, I'm not too worried about it being a vent. Going to buy good quality hose and let it be for now.

Unless you've repurposed the lines the 1/4" nipple is a fuel return to tank, not a vent.  Standard configuration is 3/8" (10 mm) fuel supply, 5/16" (8 mm) vent to vapor canister and 1/4" (6 mm) fuel return to tank.  Although fuel pressure ideally should be nominal, the line routes liquid fuel, not vapor.
