Welcome from Birmingham!  We have always had a forum, it was just on EZBoard.

I guess I'm late.

Since you are in B'ham maybe I could get some pointers on sectioning my crossmember. I'm looking for one to chop so I can keep driving my truck. It is currently off the road and I plan to drive to Memphis on June 7 for the Hot Rod Power Tour stop. I have to get the truck running by then, but I still have a lot of work planned after that trip.

Like the ones I chop down and sell?  I may have one at the shop where my project truck is that a customer changed their mind on.
Have you seen this: http://www.captkaoscustoms.com/chopcross.html

Thanks, for the welcome.

Chris,

Yep just like the ones you sell. I have wanted to to chop my crossmember since I read the tech article.

One day I want to do a truck with the sectioned crossmember, z'd frame and static drop. I want to see how low I can get one and still drive it, comfortably.

Personally, if you are going to Z it, there really is no reason to chop the crossmember.
