85 c20 JB7 Brake fitting sizes.
« on: June 11, 2017, 08:13:58 AM »
Hello, first post here. I have an 85 c20 scottsdale 350 th350. Truck has jb7 brake system but front hard lines are in rough shape. Fittings look like they've been previously abused in a repair so I want to replace with new lines and fittings. I plan on making new lines but am looking for fitting sizes from soft brake caliper hoses to hard lines, also hard lines to proportioning valve. Sorry if i did poor job explaining. Any tips for future posts are appreciated. Thanks for any help in advance. Bill

i normally dont/wont deter people from making their own parts. but something concerns me when it comes to brakes. i assume you have done brake lines before? if so you should have a kit with multiple fittings if not i wouldnt even know where you would by fittings from. at the very least you could go to a good parts store like NAPA that tend to cater to farmers and might have those fittings on hand. they could get an OEM brake hose and get you the right parts

Probably some place that makes exact replacement lines and hoses

If you've never made your own brake lines before , it's not a good idea to start doing it now
THats something that has to be done perfectly perfect the first time or you might die in a fireball  crash

I have no idea about the fitting sizes
But most NAPA stores have tons of brake line fittings
And pre made brake lines with the fittings already on
You just have to bend the  lines to fit your truck
