Hello people , I have a 74 C10 , I lowered it 41/2 front I installed 21/2 inch drop spindles and 2 inch drop springs , I put the stock springs back in thinking it was gonna raise it 2 inches well it ended up raising it 4 1/2 inches I’m confused the only thing I can think of is i didn’t put the original springs back in I ordered new ones , any advice on how to lower it 2 inches

Okay, so you lowered it 41/2= 20.5, installed 21/2 = 10.5, + 2 - 2 - 4.5 = + or - can't remember if put the original springs in to the second power.
So before you get the answer, how did you possibly put the wrong springs back in? Do you have a pile of coil springs?

Meaning you put stock replacement springs in and not the original stock springs...

This isn't something I've messed with, so take it with a big grain of salt. But I am wondering if they used different springs for different engines. Perhaps a softer spring for a 6 cylinder and a stiffer spring for a big block. Did you look into that to make sure you bought the correct stock springs?
And this is probably horrible advice, but years ago when I drove a street stock race car, we used to just cut coils off the springs to get them the height we wanted. But I'm guessing that probably isn't safe because you lose the flattened coil on the end that helps the spring sit right in the A-arm.
Good luck.

There is heavy duty and light duty. The difference wouldn't raise it 4.5"
Recheck your work. Make sure it's driven before you measure it.
