1-ton drop springs?

I'm looking to stiffen the suspension up front..my 1/2 ton springs and shocks are feeling the weight of the cummins. I want to do this without raising the front end at all. Does anyone make 2" drop 1-ton springs? or would i be better off with 1/2 ton drop spindles and stock 1-ton springs? Do you require drop shocks with either springs or spindles?

How about some coil over shocks?

How much heavier is the cummins over the big block? maybe a set of big block springs will do it, they weigh 150lb more than a small block.

the cummins weighs approx 1100 lbs, i believe 300lbs more then the diesel it replaced. i assume big block springs are already in it for the original 350 diesel.

just another idea..would running airbags be a viable solution?

after doing some research..air bags seem like a good idea. Any one using bags around here? just wondering on the ride quality/load handling capabilities. i could run a 1 ton shock with bags and then i would have an adjustable ride height..opinions?

With a cummins in there, I would go with a spindle and stronger springs.
If you go with an airbag and you want it lower you are going to have to design the bag setup to mimic the correct ride height at its installed pressure and height.
there are a few people on here with bags, are you only wanting to do the front or are you asking about all the way around.
They will handle the weight, all they are going to give over a spring is adjustability...

that is true..i would only need to do the front. is it even possible to do rear bags with leafs? i suppose i could get a set of 1-ton springs and see how much it raises the front and then go from there.

Yes it is an air over spring setup.  N2TRUX has one on his 77 pickup.
