Parking brake
« on: April 01, 2013, 06:52:44 PM »
I've got a 79 and there is an issue where the parking break lever hangs down far enough to turn on the brake light on the dash and it is really annoying. If I lift it up with my foot it goes away but it eventually falls back down. I was wondering if there was any way to tighten it so it won't sag down. If there is no solution I guess I would have to get a string or something to hold it up? I'm pretty sure this is not a rare problem. Thanks.

Check for a broken/missing return spring on the pedal assembly.

It's difficult to know just how much you don't know until you know it.
In other words... if people learn by making mistakes, by now I should know just about everything!!!

could be the cables underneath the truck have come loose from one of the tensioners ... you can adjust it from down there too
