Title: 454 exhaust help
Post by: chad1984chev on May 03, 2010, 02:24:28 AM
I am new to these trucks.  I just bought my first one. It is a 1984 GMC K2500 with a 454 engine in it.  It has headers and dual exhaust.  I dont like the way it sounds and would like to improve performance but I am on a budget.  Any suggestions of what I could do to make it sound louder without the drone.  I am looking for a cheap method.

Need more info.  What kind of headers?  What size pipes?  Cats or not?  What kind of mufflers?  A cheap turbo muffler might do the trick, but we need to know what you have and do you want it a lot louder than it is?

Agreed, Also how are the pipes routed?
