Gathering parts for a turbo build. Need some advice
« on: June 12, 2014, 11:10:17 PM »
So here is the motor in my Suburban. http://www.jegs.com/i/GM-Performance/809/19210007/10002/-1?parentProductId=1231165

The only thing that isnt the same on this motor is the heads. It has the stock TBI heads on it. Im tracking down the parts to turbo charge it, either a 76mm turb or two smaller ones, not sure what I can get ahold of yet. Im just  curious, what would you recommend for max boost on the internals listed.

I believe 8.75:1, but it could be 9.1:1.   TBI heads cam with either 64cc or 65cc chambers, so im not entirely sure. How could I test? Compression test?

That motor is 9.1:1 if it is identical to what you posted.  How do you plan on turboing it?  What are you doing for fuel delivery?
I would cap it at around 5-7 to be safe.
