different drive shaft length
« on: December 11, 2015, 06:35:25 AM »
Just ran into something odd and looking for an answer.  I have a '84 K20 400thm 208 transfer with a standard size flat bedand tried to change rear drive shaft from 83 k20 with same drive line but 83 shaft is 2" shorter. 83 had a 8' fleet side bed. Any thoughts Why the difference?

is this a regular lwb truck with the bed removed or cab and chassis? single rear wheels or dual?

Jeremy did the other truck also have a 400 turbo? 2" is about the difference between a 350 and 400 turbo in length.

Sorry for  taking so long to respond.  400thm in both.  And 84  option sticker says it came with a fleetside. It does have newer set of heavy springs with gm tags.
