2 piece driveshaft question
« on: May 04, 2008, 04:51:53 PM »
hey fellas.
well i just got done with the rear end lowering and must say the truck looks killer.
but i do have a bit of a snag.
i have the 2 piece driveshaft.
and the driveshaft from the trans to the hanger is as should be, pointing down.
BUT from the hanger back to the rearend is level.
i can feel a bit of binding? when i first take off.
what is the best way to remedy this problem?
raise the hanger bracket or shim the rear end?

I made a special carrier bearing support for this. If you want one I can sell you mine for $10 bucks to cover the cost of shipping. I don't need it anymore

thanks. ill get hold of you Via PM sometime this week to get your info and such.
also im going to have to torch the old one off right?
since your truck used to be a long bed i do have another question for you.
what would be the best bet for the factory bump stops in the back?

I cut off my bump stops and welded them back on after I moved it back an inch. I have a set of aftermarket ones you just drill a hole and secure with a nut and bolt.

The bearing support just bolts in.
