How to attach mirrors?
« on: October 19, 2019, 01:51:46 AM »
I have some 'sport mirrors' that I need to attach. How do I go about that? Do I use sheetmetal screws? Or do I have to take the door apart to access the inside for bolts?

It's difficult to know just how much you don't know until you know it.
In other words... if people learn by making mistakes, by now I should know just about everything!!!

Thanks, that's helpful. But what I don't understand is whether I just get self-tapping steel screws and screw right in to the sheet metal? Or am I supposed to take the door apart and use bolts?

Fasteners referenced in the link are jack nuts and those are the ones I've always found to be the best solution. Some mirrors use a different support bracket as well to be mindful of. Nowhere will you find a sheet metal screw zipped in from the factory so how would you do it?
