Post by: aussie on October 18, 2009, 05:30:41 PM
this might seam like a silly question but here it is !!!
how does the fuse box get it power i know its from the battery but where does it go before the battery and what color is the wire , size, etc i know the wire for the starter is purple but thewre is that red one that goes to a juction box on the upper fire wall too!!!

There should be two red ones on the starter connected to the power terminal...one fusible link goes to the headlights, and the other goes to the fuse panel IIRC.

ok i see 2 wire coming off the block 1 wire thick that the other has a ring on it  but before the ring has a cclyinder shape platic boot on it
the second on the block goes in a splice and then one goes to the block on the firewall the other 2 go to a smaller ring and a push on terminal

the one you have marked battery goes to the positive cable terminal of the starter.

yup Flamingbig10 mention that in an earlier post i found out the purple wire that goes to the soilniod does not have 12v cranking so i checked on rear of the fuse box where the purple wire comes out and i dont have power there either i checked fuses all good i made sure it was in park still no power i checked in neutral nothing its stumped me

Not to hijack, but what is the purpose of the black junction block for the wire that goes to the starter?

I hooked auxilialry electrical devices to it - power to the trailer brake controller and power to the back of the truck for the trailer.
