Sad news is a girl in our youth group rolled her 02 Z71 at about 2 this morning. Good thing is she is ok (Thank God)
I am considering buying it from the insurance company once they get everything settled ( I know they will total it out) What I am wondering is will the drivetrain work on my red truck. I know the engine will go, but what about the transfercase and tranny. I didnt look real close, but I am thinking the front drive shaft is on the left side and mine is one the right. Is there a conversion to make it work with my existing front axle?
The truck has less than 50k miles on it and was very well taken care of. I want the engine at least, but if I can make the rest work, Big Red will be alot better truck.

I would stick with the T case you have, just use the motor, trans, and ECM.

I agree with Blazin. Or you could do an independant front suspension conversion. :D
-
Im not a fan of the independant suspension. Dont see anything really wrong with them, just not a big fan of them.
Will the transfercase I have bolt on the the 4L60E or do I need an adapter? The tranny in it now is a th350 with the 208 t-case. The t-case has a farily new rebuild.
-
The t-case should bolt to the 4L60 as they came on them in our years only without the E.

I thought I read somewhere that the TH350 and the 700r4 were different. No matter, id be happyu to upgrade to the 4l60 anyway.
Thanks guys, Ill let you know when I find out for sure.

I'm thinking the '02 will have the wrong case to tailshaft housing/T-case bolt pattern. The '98-up are 6 bolt, the earlier ones were 4 like the Th350. What transfer case does the '02 use, anybody know? There likely is an adapter from Advance Adapters or someone, however it may be cost prohibitive. Lorne
