Difference in transmissions

I was wondering if there is a difference between TH700R4 transmissions in 2wd and 4x4 models or are they all the same?

Any 4x4 transmision has a shorter output shaft than a 4x2 trans. Unless you are talking old school / divoced transfer cases.

Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

Reading into the question...  If you want to use a 2WD trans on a 4WD or vise versa, you have to pull either down and change the output shaft Blazin is talking about.
