Do I need parking brake strut for drum brakes?
« on: January 16, 2016, 01:39:38 AM »
I'm making an attempt on redoing my drum brakes. I tore both sides out early this summer, and am just now getting around to putting them back in. I threw everything away and am paying for it now (literally). I need to know if I need the parking brake strut and spring? Its the flat bar that connects the shoes just under the wheel cylinder.

You will need the strut bars and springs for the e-brake to function.  Left and right sides use the same part number:  Dorman 21147 for 11.15" brakes; 21152 for 13" brakes.

It's difficult to know just how much you don't know until you know it.
In other words... if people learn by making mistakes, by now I should know just about everything!!!
