carb problem
« on: September 02, 2006, 05:25:00 PM »
I'm have a problem with my q-jet. When I floor it at a dead stop or rolling slightly, its cuts out for a second them screams after that. It didn't do this until after I swapped my stock intake to an edelbrock performer intake. I don't know if I messed up something by accident or what. I did have to reset the base timing cuz I forgot to mark the dist.:b . Timing maybe? Anywase it runs great after the short cutout if I hammer it. Any suggestions are appreciated.

    thanks,
               Mark

check the accelerator pump. It's real easy. With the engine running depress the plunger all the way. It should stall the engine. If it does it's good if it doesn't it's bad. ;)
