Um... isn't the heat a function of how far away they are from the engine?

i.e. Wouldn't they be "hottest" at the manifold? By that logic, the crossover should be directly beneath the manifolds, under the tranny.

I would assume that since topic is about duals it would be obvious that we were talking about where the pipes were the hottest...

You have 4 cylinders firing and pushing each other out the exhaust.  Where it gets the hottest is where they all converge.

You want your X-pipe or H-pipe which ever applies after your collectors where ever you have enough room. My H-pipe is under the tailshaft of my tranny. If your truck is also a 4wd that would be the best spot for you.

Anyone got any underside views of systems on 2wd trucks??

What sort of silencers are people using?
