76MM TURBO 5.3
« on: July 31, 2016, 05:27:13 PM »
I have my build, on another post and though I would put an update of my turbo upgrade.

First off this is not a bolt on turbo kit, this kit was built by my good buddy Mic Hubble, known as TurboMic.

And was tuned by Alan at Nelson Performance.

I only told him where I wanted the turbo at and supplied him parts.

I did the wideband gauge install and boost gauge install.

I did leave my 224r cam as i don't plan on running over 15 lbs of boost.

The turbo setup is a On3 76mm unit, blow off and wastegate.

Price for build was right at 3k, so its a very doable project and can be done cheaper if you have extra turbo parts lying around.

Truck manifold was used on passenger side, and custom manifold for drivers to clear a/c.

I didn't have a/c I could have gone with dirty dingo kit.

I don't have the dyno sheet but the truck made 500\500 on 5 lbs of boost, it is currently running 8 lbs.

If you want what everyone else has do what everyone else does, If you want what no one has do what no one does..
