Emission exempt Exhaust Manifolds?
« on: July 25, 2012, 10:32:43 PM »
Hello

Today I picked up some manifolds I found on CL. The ad claimed they were off a 89 Burb with a 350. But they are a different design then my 87 manifolds and have no A.i.r injection port or O2 sensor fitting. So after some searching I believe they're off a C/K 88-95 engine. So my questions, Will they work on my 87? To me it looks like I'll need a new y-pipe. And why don't they have the emission stuff?

                                                        Thanks

Mine does? And from all the reading I've been doing lately on the subject. Seems most TBI's did.

I posted some links that may help some. Do any of the manifolds in the links look like what you have?

If the manifolds you bought are indeed 88-95 C/K 350 manifolds, then they will fit the 350, the issue is where the exhaust manifold bolts to the exhaust pipe.

Clearance issues may arise.  It appears that you have a 2WD, so you shouldn't have to worry about the exhaust trying to clear the front driveshaft or other parts but I can't definitely answer one way or another.
