SM465 Bell house
« on: May 07, 2013, 08:14:12 PM »
Hello

Today My wife and I pulled the engine and trans out of my parts truck. The downside is we broke the slave cylinder ear off the bell house, whoops! So is it possible to have it welded back on? Or should I hit up the junk yards?

you could weld it or find a used bell housing just depends whats cheaper in your area... either will work.. personally i think a used one might be cheaper and more hassle free....

Cast aluminum doesn't weld very good, and is not very strong if you can get it to weld. I would find a used one.

Think I've found at least one hydro bell house, maybe two at a local junkyard. Question is what would be the best / easiest way to remove them from the trucks? I don't think I'm supposed to bring any jacks or climb under the vehicles. Any suggestions?
