ECM For 87 R10 (2WD)
« on: February 12, 2009, 01:59:08 PM »
The service # on my ecm is 1227747 AKAH. What do the 4 letters mean? Can I get another 1227747 ecm that has different letters or does it have to match AKAH? Thanks

All the trucks were 7747 ECMs   The Chip is the difference in engine setups.  The letters aren't important when getting new a new ECM.

OK. And the chip is removed and reinstalled in the new ECM,or a performance chip can be burned, right?

Yes assuming the Chip is in reusable condition(Ie wasn't faulty in the first place, or wasn't statically shorted during removal/reinstallation), and Yes a Performance Replacement Chip can be burned as well.....
