Remove Steering Wheel to Access Ignition Lock Tumbler.
« on: March 01, 2021, 07:50:00 PM »
Hey Guys.
73 C20 here.

Trying to access my ignition lock tumbler as it needs to be replaced.
I've attached pictures below.

Vile, my steering wheel is aftermarket, but does that change the setup of the column?
You also mentioned that I need a puller to remove the hub - would the hub be the metal piece in the first photo?
Will any old wheel puller work or does it need to be specific?

That hub looks OE, a simple 'Y' shaped puller will get it off.

Nice. Thanks Froto.
Someone else on the board suggested this one as well:

I think because it also includes a lock plate removal tool?

Also see "How to replace ignition switch?" for relevant information on steering wheel pullers/tools.
