Title: Rear axle fluid out of vent tube
Post by: buter1ma on July 28, 2019, 12:28:10 PM
It looks like I have axle fluid spraying out of vent tube. What could be causing this? I have a pic but it won’t post.

Firs thing that comes to mind is too much axle fluid in the axle.  But if you didn't recently change or add axle fluid (possibly overfilling), then my next guess would be that somehow you got water in there.  Drive through any deep water lately?  After that, I'm out of guesses.

With BB, if you sat in water that submerged your axle, as it cooled it sucked in water through the vent tube.

Possibly why it's puking it out.

What color is it? Is the color clear or cloudy? Cloudy=water mixed in.
