79 blazer k5
« on: February 05, 2012, 12:24:03 PM »
So I took my son up to Washoe Valley (30 miles East of Reno, NV) yesterday to pick up for him his 79 blazer that his grandmother gave to him for free.
Not too bad of shape, 454 in it, runs and drives, just needs to be smoged.  Will not pass smog or so they say, do not know what is up with that yet, have to check it out over the next couple of days.
They said it just needed to be jumped and it would start, I should have brought a battery, but after about 20 min jumping from the grandmothers truck we got it started and drove it onto the trailer and dragged it home.  My son is 21 so this will be his first project that will be his and not mine.  ;D

Was wondering how you got it to hang from the driveway like that.   ;D

Even upside down, great looking truck and the price was right.  Send it out this away if you can't get it to pass the smog test..., I'd take it off your hands.

His grammy just happened to have a big block 79 blazer laying around?  :o

Look's nice. I bet he is excited to get going on it.

I would leave the pictures upside down,  makes the thread more interesting. Just flip your monitor upside down.

FYI, Big Blocks were never available in Blazer/Jimmys.  The biggest engine you could get was a 400.
