Long time listener, first time caller.  Been driving Chevys for past 30 years. Always worked on my own with help from brother and cousin whom are both dealer technicians. Never had a full size Chevy truck until now. I have been eyeballing this 86 stepside K10 for seven years and finally talked the owner into selling it to me. Its a full option truck with cruise, power window and locks, as well as digital Delco 2700 ETR stereo and rear cargo lamp.

Of course over the years the previous owners have made some changes. Like swapping 305 for 350, 6 lift, 35s with 4.56:1 gears and the deletion of metal along with the addition of rust.  ::)

So, I have begun my nobel attempt to breath life back into her. I rebuilt 350 and 700r4 along with both front and rear ends. New hub to hub.  Pulled cab and bed off and cleaned up frame. Replaced cab with donor with doors. Cab had been gutted. So I am having to rewire ad replace all of the interior. Hopefully, I can get it back on the streets by summer.

Sorry if it's something painfully obvious but me and my buddy can't figure out what this part circled in blue is exactly. It's in my 84 c10 with a completely stock 305. It has line to the evap canister and a small hole in the back with a broke off hose fitting inside it which I think was line to the carb. Can anybody ID this? Thanks in advance.

got my new carpet and sound deadener installed over the last two weeks. I soon will be installing a new dash pad and upgraded door panels. I'm super happy with the way the carpet turned out and the deadener seems to hush the road noise a little too. Does anyone have tips on revitalizing the tired old door panel plastics?

So, I have a 1984 GMC High Classic that I am slowly working on.  Had the weak 305 taken out and a 350 put in.  Now I am replacing the carb with an Edlebrock 1406.  When I went to install, this part is keeping it from fitting.  It wasn't hooked up to anything so I don't think it is too important.  I am not sure though if I remove this completely what damage will it do?  If I can remove it, does anyone sell a plate to put in its place?  I admit, this is my first vehicle that I've worked on.  Not a trained mechanic by no means but this is something to keep me busy...  Any help anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

I purchased the rear cab molding and the clips and am ready to attach the clips.  There are no existing clips to use as a reference so I am unsure what direction they need to be installed.  One side of the clip has a tab in the center, the other side has two curved tabs.  Does anyone know which side should be up towards the window?
