This is my 19 yr old sons daily driver
When he was 15 we Told him we'd give him $5000 for a car if he met certain academic goals
( becoming fluent in a foreign language )
He wanted a Stepside 4 wd , 4 speed squarebody
We wanted a rust free one
Found this one in AZ
He's done a lot of work to it ,
LS transplant , NV-3500 five speed , NP-208 t-case, axle swap , suspension lift , and just finished the FatMat on the firewall and floor and Vintage Air install
He did almost all the work himself ,
Including the LS wiring harness mods,
Welding up the exhaust , even vacuuming the AC and charging it with 134
Been to several cruise ins and two shows
Got "best new truck" at one and 2nd overall at another

Randomly stumbled across a couple of rare parts
4 spoke 15" wooden steering wheel
The only one available for sale in the US,
And a set of 10" wide, 8 lug slot mags for 15" tires

It wins 1st place in my book with those aluminum slotted rims. I've never seen them in that size before. Very cool.

Thanks !
Saw em on Craig's for $200
They apparently were made for 3/4 tons with drum brakes
We had to grind a good bit off the front calipers to get em to fit
And they were really really dirty
We spent a whole day cleaning em
Using every kind of chemical and scrubber we could find
What worked the best was using a brass wire wheel in a drill with lots of dish soap
Followed by all the usual aluminum cleaners and polishers
Never could find a proper light bar for a Stepside squarebody
This one was about 6 inches too narrow and we cut it and spliced in some pipe
No idea what truck the light bar was originally for
It was made for a Stepside that's about six or seven inches skinnier than a squarebody
