Taking 2 and making one better
« on: December 29, 2017, 08:06:50 PM »
Ok guys, have a bit of a project here. I have a 86 k10 long bed that is my baby. Lots of years and love has gone into her but its time for some updates.

Here's the plan. I have a 94 c2500 350 4l80e 2wd parts truck.  I'm wanting to pull the throttle body injection off of it and put it on my 86. Obviously I will need to pull the computer and all related harnesses.

So here's the first question. My 86 350 is 30 over mild cam with only about 5k on it. Can I pull the 94 heads and put them on my older block? I know the TBI intake won't fit my older heads.

Second question. I plan on using the same 700r4 that's in the 86. Does the 94 4l80e trans have a stand alone computer or is it all in 1 with the engine? If all in 1 how will that affect the computer not having a trans to control.

Third question. If I can't use the 94 computer because of the trans I have a friend with a 90 3500 that was converted to carb and had a 350 TBI and 700r4 stock. He has no wiring but does have the computer. Will the 90 computer work with 94 wiring harness.

Thanks in advance for info on this.

Correction. The 90 3500 I mentioned had a th400 trans. Jot a 700r4. Regardless it still wasn't a comp trans.
