« on: July 18, 2018, 09:05:48 PM »

Tilt steering

About 3 days ago my ignition would turn but not do anything.
I took the steering column apart and found that the actuator rod  had bent and slipped off the ignition rod. I bought a new one and installed it today, it will start but its hard to turn to start and wont go into acc. NEED HELP!

Ignition switch is about to crap out on you. Mine did the same thing on my 86 a few weeks ago. It’s a pretty simple swap and the new switch was on the shelf at Napa for about $25. There’s a few videos on YouTube. About the only thing you need other than regular hand tools is a steering wheel puller. I would recommend getting the blinker mechanism before you start. Mine broke during the swap
