Did Chevrolet install from the factory a 12bolt rearend in any of the 73-87 1/2 ton trucks? What measurements should I look for if finding a loose 12 bolt to install??

yes of course they did, the 12 bolt has been around for a long time. there arent really measruements to look for, just make sure it came out of a pickup. some came with posi and some with an open diff. make sure you dont get a car 12 bolt since they have different brackets on them and smaller bolt pattern.
