swapping sending units?
« on: July 28, 2015, 04:34:25 PM »
Will a right hand fuel tank sending unit fit in the left tank. the reason I ask is that the left sending unit has really short tubes from the sending unit and I need a little more room to put the hardline to -6an adapters on. The right hand sending units hafe longer supply and return tubes and would make the fuel system part of the swap much easier. I know the dimensions are the same but doe the locking ring have a different alignment tab or something that would prevent this? thanks in advance.

Unless you install it with tubes facing inward as normal and then the float will be on the opposite side, which shouldn't be an issue.

Sewwt that's all I need because I don't want to buy more -6 to hard line adapters or try to fit it on a short tube....

Both sending units are for an 87 so the accommodate for the baffels. The pump end of the sending unit doesn't seem to have any specific orientation on the baffels.  It's just a flat surface where. It mounts. Either way the new unit is on its way and I guess I will see.
