I was wandering if any body knows if you replace the tailgate with barndoors on the suburban if so any info would be appreciated .

look in the door jam. there should be plugs where the doors would bolt and latch. pull the plugs and reuse them. its kinda like changing the door on the fridg.   good luck  tim b.

I've done this on my '79.  There should be plugs for all the harware to attach the doors on the sides.  The hard part is the top and bottom latches. There are no speed nuts on top, so you need to find a way to start a nut in the frame.  I found RTV help the nut in place long enough I could get a bolt going to hold the top latches.  For the bottom, you need to either fabricate or cut the bottom panel from a suburban with doors, the tailgate panel will hit the bottom of the door and not allow it to close.  For my truck, I cut the panel out, fabricated an angled piece and made two inset boxes for the two latches - works pretty well with some extra weatherstrip to seal everything.
