Title: Stalling issue in 350 tbi
Post by: Jakethesnake73 on September 26, 2015, 07:29:21 PM
I madr a trip up i70 earlier this year and at my exit had a stalling issue that was just like vapor locking. The longer i waited to start the longer i could drive. Most of my driving is just around town. Today i drove about 9 miles and stalled in the turn lane right before where i was going thank fully. Cranked for a while and finally started just to stall again while waiting for traffic so i could turn.
Im thinking its
Fuel pump, kinked line somewhere, or the fuel filter. Thoughts?

02 sensor and tps can cause stalling.
any check engine light?
i would also check for spark and do you hear the fuel pump prim and run?

Remove the fuel tank cap and test drive the truck.  If the symptoms persist try replacing the fuel filter.  If they still persist, check the fuel pressure.

i can hear the fuel pump prime when i turn the key on. I have never been able to hear it while driving. My o2 sensors would bring a check engine light every once in a while and it read code 44 i think. It was for lean oxygen. I havent had the check engine light turn on since i cut the cats off. Just driving around town i have the issue now. Its a lot like vapor locking. I know that i have a slightly kinked line at the gas tank. Today it started as stalling at lights and now i cant get anywhere without stopping for a while.

Follow BD's advice.  Or you could jump right to the fuel pressure check and eliminate several things at once.
