Rev Limit?
« on: May 29, 2019, 02:43:59 PM »
I installed a tach in my '77 Chevy C10. Where is the rev limit on a 350 v8? Thanks in advance!

How high you can safely rev a SBC depends on several factors.  Automatic or standard transmission?  Stock engine or performance modified?  How many miles/hours on the engine?  Has it been properly maintained?  Experience of the driver?

The honest though arbitrary answer is, If you really need to ask how tight you can twist it, keep it below 4,500 RPM.   8)

It's difficult to know just how much you don't know until you know it.
In other words... if people learn by making mistakes, by now I should know just about everything!!!
