4wd check
« on: April 10, 2004, 10:45:00 PM »
Hey all,

Whats the easiest way to check to see if my front wheels are actually powered when I shift into 4wd? Just a quick check to make sure 4wd works.

Just have someone check the front prop shaft while you "ease" the truck forward.  Just make sure it spins.  If you think you may have a bad hub then...lock the hubs.  Reach in and find the axle u-joint at the wheel.  With the hubs locked you shouldn't be able to turn it.  And, of course, with the hubs in "free" you shoulkd be able to turn the axle shaft by hand.
