noob question i know? but where do the green, white, red and black wires go on my tach? thanks in advance

Typically black to ground, white to the dash lights, red to power, and green to the distributor. I just did a sunpro tach that way.

but where exactly on the distributor does the green wire go?

Look right were the other wires go into the distributor and you should see that it is marked for a tach,
