Title: Would like to raise front end a little.
Post by: philo_beddoe on May 07, 2019, 03:55:23 PM
I don't know nuthin about lifting trucks, but i just want to bring the front end up a teensie bit to match the rear, nice and level. Why? It just looks better.  Its a factory 77 suspension right now.

I don't know what type of rear suspension is on a 77, coil or spring, but,

Might be easier to lower the rear by removing some springs if you have them,  unless you haul stuff.

The ride is smoother too.

i do believe most people remove a rear spring to achieve this "level" stance. you also could change the front springs to ones with a heavier rating.

Replacement front coils for a teensy bit.  Ask for the same application but with a 454 equipped non AC is the next up.

Adjustable rear shackles is the way to go.

Everyone's mentioning doing something to the rear. I like the rear as it is. I like the idea of HD coil springs in the front though. Will that suffice?

That would be the route I would take.

Because you are saying you want to level out the truck. Heavy duty springs will change the ride, you will need to realign the front end and may not like the way it rides while adjusting the rear height will give you the level you desire easily and inexpensively.

Front spring spacers, but this likely will affect ride.  Plus it just may not be a good idea  in general?

Air shocks for the front.  Also may not be a good idea, because air  shocks are meant for the rear?

P.S.
Front end slightly lower than rear, i think, tends to equal better mpg due to better aerodynamics. (i think?)

Got great reviews, Question: does it install in the top of the spring or bottom? Didn't see it listed

Thanks man!

To the admin and members- I just opened Ebay, and there are at least 6 listing for spring spacers.

And! I use a different email for Ebay... This crap is getting out of hand!

The best way may be to get diesel, big block, or 3/4 ton springs?

Try some 20.00 spacers first, I think you'll like it.

It won't change your ride.

I bought some for the '80 I'm into.
